About SWAT

Established in October 4, 2000, the Southwest Aquatic Team continues to provide interested swimmers a program in which they can improve their swimming skills as well as character development.

Our Mission Statement guides our swimmers to achieve excellence:SWAT is a swim team that empowers young people to excel in life through dedication, discipline and teamwork, while having fun.

We have swimmers from 5 years old and older. We currently practice at the Leo Cancellare Memorial Pool on the Westside of El Paso, Texas. Please see our practice schedule for the current days and times.

Our morning practices for the Black and Senior group are at Tennis West during the summer months.

SWAT is divided into different levels of swimming ability:

• PRE-COMPETITIVE
• GREEN GROUP
• BLUE GROUP
• BLACK GROUP
• SENIOR GROUP

Criteria for Lane Assignments for the Afternoon Group

Southwest Aquatic Team also charges an annual family assessment fee of $50.00. This fee helps cover our coaches travel expenses, equipment purchases, and meet fees.

The other annual fee is a $62.00 US-Swimming registration. This is a requirement for any swimmer on the Southwest Aquatic Team. US Swimming provides necessary insurance for our club, coaches, and swimmers.

The Southwest Aquatic Team participates in US-Swimming sanctioned meets throughout Texas and New Mexico. When your swimmer enters one of these meets, you must attach a payment for the meet with the entry form.
